Discuss advantages and disadvantages of tremendous development in technology.
Is it a boon or curse. Discuss both the ideas and give your view.
Since the industrial revolution, there has been tremendous growth in technology. Initially, it was been used as human catastrophe in world-wars but later global peace movements have tried to focus on the everyday use of such technologies. This sudden development has occurred in very recent decades.
The branding of any product prior to the recent dark ages has always been something which would aid certain aspect of life. To illustrate, the invention of telegraph was the greatest achievement, as it just brought the globe within some minutes of distance. Urgent messages were been sent and received. Government hardly required any promotion of such a unique communicational tool. Very soon it became a part of life of any everyday joe. Furthermore, the invention of walkie-talkie, telephone etc. brought the upgrades in communication. These are till date considered pivotal features to bring the world closer.
Many people also believe that as the engineering started evolving, humans lost the need to be united because of any internal differences. It is believed that instead of bringing the world closer, it created a rift between families. If someone had a telephone to call their family everyday, they would have no ambiguity in staying at different places. The talks can happen even from the distances. Hence, the divide was created and the warmth in relationship decreased.
To conclude, every coin has two sides as does the scientific inventions. It is us as intelligent beings to understand the pros and cons of it and react accordingly. In my opinion technological growth and social bonding are not completely dependent on each other. Although growth in technical areas makes great business developments, it shouldn't be confused to be harmful for humans at any cost.
