Space exploration

Some people think that space exploration is a waste of resources while others think that it is essential for mankind to continue to explore the universe in which we live.

Discuss both and give your opinion.

Since the Sputnik had been launched by Soviet Union, there is always been a race towards the space. There is no denying that the space programs bring an immense knowledge to the Astronomers and Astrophysicists but it also gives an in-depth knowledge about the world wide climate, season and helps out the meteorological department. I believe that other space missions are just melting of wealth which could be used for numerous vital tasks.

The need for satellites to track any detailed information which could help mankind to stop any catastrophe is always encouraged. There is an argument by many intellectual individual over some of the missions like Voyager, indeed they did give limitless knowledge about the universe but these could have been utilized for other purposes like eradication of poverty or health care in poor and developing countries.

Many scientists believe that some telescopes in the space can give great knowledge of the universe. The space programs should be limited unto certain threshold. The per capita income and expenditure should be checked. Space programs taken up by India should be taken as ideal examples as they are most efficient with least resources consumed. In addition Indian Space Research Organization takes up the satellite programs only to achieve benefit for common man.

To conclude, I believe strict actions must be taken over space institutes to focus their ideas to solve current problems with space programs. They should re-utilize the existing spacecrafts and satellites. Space debris is the elephant in the room now and needs to be addressed. Although rich countries have many factors like natural resources, a cautious flow check is essential.
