Some people think that e-books are the death
of paper books while others think that paper books will disappear.
Discuss both the views and give your opinion.
With the advent of the new digital age, everything is in the electronic form. As it is said a coin has two sides, so does the current digital age. Although many people believe that the future of books would be in electronic form, there are still some avid readers who have a great relationship with hard-bound paper books. It is a personal choice to opt any of the way, in the end one has to gain some knowledge and prosper, where way of attaining it becomes less vital.
E-books are always safe at some electronic memory location, moreover there is no risk of losing it. It comes with pros such as easy to turn, no maintenance, and cherry on the cake is it hardly consumes any space. In addition to such user friendliness, e-books are pivotal in environmental benefits. It is well known that paper comes from trees, which have to be conserved. To illustrate further in recent decades the products such as Amazon kindle are formulating great relationship with book worms as it has infinite library, as well as the display and feel are also customizable. This gives a crystal clear picture of how happy readers are indeed with the latest form of technology.
Many people also believe that reading a hard-bound book has a better feeling as it helps in great focus. In a book named "Deep Work", author Cal Newport emphasizes on such an example where he also adds with focus, reading pace also is at par when one considers reading a hard-bound physical book. To describe further when one reads online over a laptop or a mobile their focus does shift very quickly over other factors such as unnecessary web-surfing and social media.
In my opinion it is best to have a digital library, it conserves environment. Even if books would be in museum after some years it won't be a big deal. To conclude e-books are best for future generations as we already have degraded environment so much that it is further unforgivable for us to harm it any further.
