Care homes or nursing homes

Many elderly people are no long looked after by their families but are put in care homes or nursing homes.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this trend?

The concept of joint family is becoming more and more dwindling. The old generation is taken to the old age homes by their sons or daughters at surge these days, which is quite depressing. I clearly have a stand against this.

Many believe if there are some diseases or physical problems which cannot be treated solely at home, only in such extreme conditions it is feasible for the elderly ones to be in some hospitals or houses which provide extensive care. It is to be made sure that the attention of the near and dear ones shouldn't be lost during these tough times. Regularly at-least one member from the family must be present the such places. In all other cases it is pretty much the people who don't care for their old parents or grandparents. It can be confirmed that people are being selfish and just serve the purpose of having the elderly ones only during the needful times.

Society firmly believes that it is crystal clear if the youth do not want to take the responsibility and care of their parents they perform this sinful act. I find this fact to be dauntingly true. In many religions parents are considered to be pious as they are the ones who had worked day and night to fulfill all the
needs of their kids also to keep them safe. Furthermore education, food, clothing and shelter was provided by them. They stand behind the failures and first ones to be happy in the successes of their sons or daughters. Some countries have strict laws against it.

To conclude, in any sense it is against the ethics to put elderly people in any such institutes. They deserve to be taken care by their own blood.
